Every week, young Billie Bunkum must stage the greatest variety show on Earth—or risk losing her beloved Top Hat Theatre to the scheming property tycoon, Terminus Stoppitt. Thankfully, Billie isn’t alone. By her side is Alistair, a brilliant but eccentric backstage inventor who has secretly built a (slightly glitchy) time machine, and “Small” Daniel, the theatre’s Front of House manager whose big heart and even bigger ideas keep the operation running. Together, this unlikely trio embark on wild, time-travelling adventures to recruit jaw-dropping acts from the past, present and future to star in each week’s show.
As they race against the clock to put on spectacular performances, they must also stay one step ahead of Terminus, navigate the mind-bending paradoxes of time-travel, and somehow keep their increasingly unpredictable “special guests” under control. What could possibly go wrong? Well, just this week, Houdini’s escaped, Chaplin’s all over the place, and Elvis has left the building!
Each episode is a thrilling, self-contained story packed with time-travel chaos, theatrical antics, backstage mishaps and endless variety. Beneath the fun, a deeper mystery begins to develop—Billie’s inheritance holds secrets she never imagined, a long-locked theatre safe reveals a startling truth, and a time-travel conundrum unfolds with huge consequences for one of our young heroes.
