Hey Presto brings important books from the history of magic back into print, creating carefully restored editions for modern readers while preserving the character, knowledge and historical importance of the originals.

Hey Presto books are more than reproductions of old scans. Our classic editions are newly typeset and carefully prepared for modern publication. Original illustrations are restored and remastered wherever possible, while the original works remain complete and unabridged. Where historical text requires clarification, changes are kept to a minimum and clearly explained.

Hey Presto is led by magician, author and publisher Justin Monehen, Creative Director of Marvin’s Magic and a Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, The Magic Circle’s highest accolade.

Justin has spent his career writing, illustrating, developing and publishing magic. As Creative Director of Marvin’s Magic, he has helped create magic products for an international audience and has written and developed thousands of tricks and routines.

That experience shapes everything Hey Presto publishes. We understand magic not simply as publishers, but as magicians. We care about the methods, the history, the illustrations, the explanations and, most importantly, whether a reader can actually learn from and enjoy the book.
