Penn & Teller Inducted into The Magic Circle After 50 Years

It’s official: Penn & Teller, the legendary duo known as the “bad boys of magic,” have finally been welcomed into The Magic Circle, the world’s most prestigious magic society.

For decades, the pair were famously on the outside looking in. Their reputation for bold, inventive performances – including the occasional reveal of how tricks are done – clashed with one of The Magic Circle’s strictest rules: never expose the secrets of magic.

But now, after fifty years of trailblazing stagecraft, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller have been inducted straight into the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star – the society’s highest honour. The announcement was made during their current 50th-anniversary residency at the London Palladium, making the occasion even more special.

Marvin Berglas, President of The Magic Circle, praised the decision, saying:

“Penn & Teller have consistently redefined what it means to be magical entertainers. Their originality, creativity, and showmanship are unmatched, and we are proud to finally welcome them into The Magic Circle.”

This induction is more than just recognition. It marks a moment of reconciliation between tradition and innovation in the world of magic. Penn & Teller’s career has inspired generations of magicians and audiences alike – proving that wonder can come from both protecting secrets and sometimes daring to share them.

From Las Vegas to London, television specials to hit shows like Fool Us, Penn & Teller continue to astonish, amuse, and inspire. Now, as official members of The Magic Circle, their legacy takes its place at the very heart of magic’s greatest institution.
