  1. ILOVEmagic

Pleasantly surprised by this book as I spotted a couple of classic tricks that I didn’t realise this is where they came from. It’s a brilliant introduction to card magic. Really clear, easy to follow pictures. Starts with the basics and builds up to full routines. I’ve got the hang of quite a few already and am looking forward to practising my magic on friends and family.

  2. SciFi Fan

The Royal Road to Card Magic was one of the first books I read on card magic and is still one of my favourites. I know a lot of people point to Hugard’s ‘other’ masterpiece, Expert Card Technique, but quite honestly, if you’re interesting in learning sleight-of-hand with cards, this is where your journey begins! By the end, you’ll have mastered the foundations of all the classic “moves” and learnt some great tricks.
I bought this version in the USA as it wan’t available in the UK at the time (it is now). Really pleased with this edition. The text and illustrations are perfect, crisp and clear and the compact size makes this the ideal format to read and study. Loving these Hey Presto books – keep them coming!
